"Stolen car? hitching in Ireland"

Ok so we were walking along the road anyway and this car from the opposite side of the road pulls in and shouts over to us, ’Where are ye going?’ and we basically said ’we don’t know’ and so we said ’where are you going?/’ and he said ’I’m just going out this way’ and so we said, ’right, can we hop in’. So we hopped in.

But when I got into the front, I had to remove a crowbar from the seat and I just put it down underneath my seat and your man was quite young…and I looked at some of the controls of the car and basically it was the controls for a taxi, so I asked this young fella, who was maybe about 19 or 20, ’was he finished working?’ and he said, ’oh god no, do you think I own this car?’. And I went, ’uh yes’ and he said, ’no I don’t’.

Meanwhile, I looked back and I noticed that the back window where my friend was sitting was smashed. So he saw me looking at that and uh, I just looked at him in shock horror because basically all the clues there were that the car was robbed. But he said that he was sleeping…minding the car that night because it was his uncles car. And he woulda used the crowbar to hit anyone that basically he attempted to rob the car.

So we weren’t too sure if his story was too legit or not. And he kinda said that ’I know your face from somewhere’ and this fella now was a bit rough and I was going, oh my god, like did I rob his pint or did I rob his girl or what, but uh, I said I was from blackrock and he was from the neighboring parish which actually is quite a rough parrish.
